Visit Windsor Castle & Stonehenge
You will be picked up from your hotel/apartment in time to be at the gates of Windsor Castle as they open for the day. We will spend time exploring the
longest continually occupied castle in the world. We tour the State Apartments, see the current exhibition of royal artifacts, stroll around the Castle
precinct and enter into the beautiful St George's chapel. If there is a ceremonial Guard Change scheduled for your visit day, then we shall watch that too.
From Windsor we travel on to Stonehenge, stopping at a village pub on the way for lunch.At Stonehenge we visit the Stones themselves and wonder at
the enormity of the task of transporting these stones and placing them so precisely. You will have the opportunity to work out the many theories about
why the stones are placed where they are and their purpose over time. If you wish, there may also be time to visit the nearby city of Salisbury with its
magnificent cathedral including the cathedral's very own copy of the Magna Carta.
